Demon Chaser Film Challenge

September 11, 2013

The Demon Chaser Film Challenge is an annual horror film festival entering its fourth year focused to bring fiendish filmmaking fun during the Halloween season.

Created and organized yearly by veteran producer Brian Higgins, Demon Chaser is an opportunity for filmmakers to create a six minute sixty-six second (666) macabre masterpiece and have them screened at Utah's top horror film events. While the genres must be horror, filmmakers are allowed to choose a sub-genre, if it remains available, and incorperate elements into the finished product.

Unlike in previous years, registration filled up quickly and a second screening group was opened up. So far this year, over 13 teams have already registered and are hard at work making their films. Sub-genres include Found Footage, Ancient Curse, Possession, Twisted Science, Creature Feature, Teen Screams, Splatter, Dual Personality, Killer, Thriller/Suspense, and Haunting.

A selection of the best submissions will be included as segments on the official DCFC anthology feature currently in pre-production. Full distribution plan in place to bring awareness and revenue to the filmmaker's films. Be sure to check out the films from previous years, 2010, 2011, and 2012.
